Biggest problem of Nigeria is the youths ~Senator

By Obinna Chukwuezie

The Chairman Senate Committee on Information Communication Technology (ICT), Senator Abdulfatai Buhari has criticized the youths for what he described as “not playing their role.”

Delivering his speech as special guest last Saturday at the Social Media Conference 2017 in Sheraton Hotels Abuja, the 50-year old lawmaker who represents Oyo North senatorial district at the Red Chambers challenged the youths to fight for what belongs to them. “Nobody will fight for you,” Buhari who is elected on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC) said.

“You don’t know your worth. You have the numbers. You are just cowards. The best way to transform Nigeria is to get those who are not supposed to be in position out, the Senator who was a member of the House of Representative between 2003 and 2007,” he said.

Making reference to the theme of the conference, “social media: a tool for national transformation,” Buhari reminded the youth audience that “with social media, you can create national transformation, but most of you (youths) are just jokers on social media. You cannot create transformation by posting only selfies and nude photos.”

In his own remark, the self-styled President of Frustrated Nigerians and maverick musician, Charly Boy trolled the youths. He said, instead of becoming agents of transformation on social media, you have become “social media gangsters” and wasting your data.

“The future of Nigeria lies in the hands of her exceptional youths. Youths must become their fear. If they don’t fear us, nothing will change in this country.” Charly Boy said. He urged youths to join the movement to overthrown the current social norm in Nigeria by signing up to www.ourmumudondo.org

The conference, which is her second edition, was put together by I AM NIGERIA Group. It featured panel sessions, musical performances and award presentation.
