Nigeria’s former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday recieved the Aba-made shoes which he ordered recently from Aba. The shoes were delivered to him personally by the governor of Abia state himself, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
After the delivery, the elated Okezie uploaded the photos of where Obasanjo was taking delivery of the shoes on his Facebook page and wrote:
“Two weeks ago, former Pres. Olusegun Obasanjo placed an order for made-in-Aba shoes…Yesterday, I personally delivered them to him…
It would recalled that Obasanjo placed the order for the shoes during the 2016 Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Forum in Lagos, where he listenned to Okezie marketing Aba-made shoes passionately. Speaking as one of the panelist at the Forum, Obasanjo commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for promoting indigenous products. “Governor, I listened to you and I commend you for what you’re doing in Abia. Please keep doing what you’ve told us you’re doing,” he said.
It is not clear if the shoes were paid for given a compliments. We shall keep you updated as we get further information on the transaction…
